Self Development

Goal Setting - Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve - Napoleon Hill

Goal Setting

An important part of self-development is goal setting. If you do not set goals then you will never truly know that you have ever succeeded. Goal setting can be viewed as going from point A to point B. It is as simple as realizing that you are now at point A, and now you must plan out your steps to get to point B.
There is an acronym called SMART that can help you tremendously with setting your goals. SMART stands for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely. Every time you set a new goal you should run it up against the that acronym. You will find that it much easier to follow through with your goals when you thoroughly plan them out.

There are two main stages of prospecting. The first stage of prospecting is to search for and identify potential customers, and it requires researching the market to identify the most likely customers for your product. Research may involve conducting surveys or observations.
You may even contact different demographics by online surveys, mail, or telephone. Another strategy is to observe your competitors or businesses similar to yours. Once you have determined your prospects, it is time to move on to stage two. Stage two involves ranking your prospective customers by how well you can meet their needs, and how likely they are to buy what you're selling. You should prioritize efforts to focus on the most suitable individuals or demographics.

Time Management

Part of the beauty of being your own boss is that you set your own deadlines. Setting your own deadline requires a great deal of self-integrity, and demonstrates your commitment to the success of your business. A great strategy for managing your time is to create a daily schedule for yourself. It is important to stick to this daily schedule, but don't forget to allot some time for both yourself and your family.
Time management is a life long skill, but it may take some time to perfect. It is often helpful to think of what motivates you! Whether it be a financial goal to buy that sports car that you've always wanted, the ability to fund your own lavish lifestyle, or to give your family the life that they deserve. Find whatever motivates you, and keep it in your mind to get an extra push when working to meet your own deadlines.
